RXCLUS is  a tool for licensed radio-amateurs and SWL's who are interested in DX'ing and are QRV in packet-radio. It makes possible to receive informations  transmitted on  the PacketCluster system without having to  establish a connection to a cluster node. It identifies the frames sent  to cluster  users, and  also those  exchanged between two cluster nodes  with a special protocol. This possibility is especially interesting for  the SWL's  during the night time as it makes possible the reception  of cluster informations even if no user is connected on the local node With no  connexion established,  DX, WWV  and ANN  informations with a  connexion: also  Talk) are  recognised among  all the  frames heard on  the  monitored  frequency  and  are  the  only  ones  to  be displayed. Each  information is  displayed only  once, even  if it  is repeated many  times  on  the  frequency  because  several  users  are connected or  there are many retries. So you get the same result as if you would  be connected to the cluster, but without additional traffic on the  air and with no link failures problems. It is not a problem if the monitored frequency is shared with other packet services (Mailbox and so on

ARES/Data is basically a multiple-connect, multiple-port specialized bulletin board system with a conference bridge that is tailored to store and retrieve basic information about people, places, or things in an emergency or disaster The program is a generalized form of the FINDER program (Family Information Database for Emergency Responders, by WN6I and N6KL, 1987).  Although ARES/Data allows access to the database via packet radio, the program can also operate stand-alone without any packet radio access.  The actual operating mode is chosen by the system operator when the ARES/Data program is started

The primary advantage of BB over the MBL/RLI/BQE/CBBS.... systems is the ability to handle multiple connects per port.  The program uses it own multitasker and no DesqView, DoubleDos, etc is required.  On the down side, BB has been optimized for speed and requires at least 512K (and usually 640K) to be used productively BB uses a "host-mode" interface so the only TNCs supported are the TNC-1 and TNC-2 (or clones) with the WA8DED (or clone) EPROMS installed, the AEA PK-87, PK-88, PK-232, and the DRSI PC*PA TNC card.  It also runs with any KISS TNC using the G8BPQ PC Node switch

REBBS will check Bids & etc. for dupes but if these have been altered there is a possibility that some may slip through BBdupe will run through your message base and compare each new message with a file of previous messages based on the Subject and TO & From address address is ignored as it may be the reason for the dupe The file is self maintaining and will handle between 5000 & 6000 previous message records, in blocks of about 1000 each BBdupe will make a report in an output file format which may be imported for review by the sysop BBdupe will place the possible dupes on either hold or review as well as make a sysop report if a suffix is added to the Filename.ext when calling it up All previous dupe message numbers will be reported along with the address and Subject of the current Dupe

"need" or whatever Files may be named any filename you wish for each parameter and the program will supply extent for each and maintain them all separatley. You may select file replacement also if desired Files will be provided with the original Subject: as a Title: and the original station who the file came from on the next line You may put BBfile and it's configuration files in it's own directory or in the "BB" default directory. There may be quite a few after a while.If you wish you may put just the configuration files in the subdirectory and still run BBfile in the "BB" dir. as the path from parms.bb is only used to find the config.files. IMPORT goes to default. If you decide to use a subdirectory you must make an entry in parms.bb as an example  ;bbfile_dir = c:\bbfile make sure it is a comment line and there is a trailing \ included

Originally written for use by Mac, AA6QD to indicate messages which were relayed by Satellite You may place the desired messages in Review status using the search criteria in Action.bb so they will not forward out before they are edited by BBtag BBtag works on all messages regardless of status so that if you are unable to place them on Review just running the program before forwarding will probably catch most of them An example may be included with this zip as Review.doc BBtag will take any messages it changes off the Review status when it runs A full report of activity is available in IMPORT format if desired to monitor operation, a good idea for the first few days at least

This program converts W9ZRX BBS files by State and Province US/CAN (last ZRX listing was in STATEBBS.ARC and VE_BBS.ARC) to a file named "HLOOKUP.BB" used by BB version 2.6 for automatic Hierarchival addressing. BBHLCVT.EXE is very easy to use and just takes a few moments to decipher 81 files as of latest count by W9ZRX. BBHLCVT looks for the first string on each line entry of a file for the  station call then tacks on a default address or prompts you for a new address

ESTIMATE is a program from KZ1O which estimates how fast you can get data through a packet network.  The program was written in collusion with VITA more about them later).  It runs on any IBM PC or compatible.  The faster (in megahertz) the better; and even betterer with an '87 chip installed.  Any video board works The program allows you to change values of things like FRACK, PACLEN, DWAIT and so on, to see what effect it would have on the bytes-per-second throughput rate of the packet network.  A software simulation takes all of your values and crunches them to get an estimated number, that is, "bytes per second." In addition, the corresponding times are displayed for transferring typical files at this new rate

It has not to care for the handling of the TNC, as this task is completely done by GP When executing a interactive remote-programme (that uses the GPRI), GPRI loads  the programme in the memory and, after the remote-programme has "registered itself, executes a initialisation-routine, in which the programme can send a startup-message, for example Then GPRI will call a specific routine in the remote-programme whenever a text was received on that channel. In this routine the remote-programme can react on the text and send back an answer GPRI will unload the program from memory when the remote-programme requests GPRI to do so So the GPRI is completely based on a client/server-structure between GP and the remote-programme, as the remote-programme requests services like "send string", "send file" and "get QSO-data" directly from the GPRI This allows to operate remote-programmes via PR like DOS-programmes, that is per a interactive communication with the program. This offers much more possibilities for remote-programmes as before This document describes the interface between GP and the interactive remote programme. It is independent of the used programming-language, but it should be able to call interrupts and imbed assembler-commands. I presuppose some knowledge on programming, as the GPRI and its programming are relatively complex and susceptible to errors This is caused by the fact that a GPRI-programme has no real main routine and that nearly all actions are done in the routines which are called by the GPRI

PACFAST is a high  speed packet terminal program. It is  designed to  work at baud rates up to 115200.  It was written in  "C"  for fast  execution.  It  can utilize the 16550 UART  with  a  screen display  indicator for this high speed UART chip.  It is able  to maintain  log files, and will shell to  DOS.  It will work  under windows  V3.0. This program will work on most MS-DOS or IBM  com patible machine.  It is a very simple and easy program to  work with and relies on the operators knowledge of the TNC's  Firmware rather than a complicated and unwieldy software program.  For the packet experimenter it offers the benefit of being one of the few programs for packet radio that is designed for high speed as well as  the utilization of the 16550 UART Chip.  As an added  feature in  this version, it will look up Amateur Radio Call  Signs  from within the program if you have RT Systems' SAM Program  installed on  your computer.  This program will also indicate if you  don't have SAM loaded in your machine.  You do not have to have SAM  in order  to use this program; it will operate as well  without  it With  SAM, however, you can get callsign information  fast  while working packet contacts

paKet is a communications program developed especially for use with Packet Radio, although it can be used for other modes with the appropriate equipment.  It is designed to run on any IBM compatible computer system and to communicate through a standard TAPR-compatible Terminal Node Controller (TNC The program is very easy to use, even for newcomers to this field As you gain experience with the system, you can explore some of the more sophisticated features which are provided to meet the needs of even the most demanding packet operators.  It is simple if that is what you want; and it is sophisticated if that is what you want The modern trend is towards Graphical Environments with the likes of Windows, or OS/2.  paKet is written to run as a plain DOS program so if you have an old XT with a CGA or even a Mono display system gathering dust in the corner, paKet will run on that just fine. Packet radio is an excellent application for the older systems that are not much use for anything else nowadays, so it is quite feasible to dedicate an older system to running paKet 24 hours per day.  What else do we do with those older systems now?  We used to give them to the wife or children to use as a Word Processor, play games, etc but many modern Word Processors need at least 4MB RAM, 10 to 20 MB of disk 80386, etc... The good games are not much better. Thank Goodness for packet radio!  If you are running Windows, OS/2, DESQview, etc you will find paKet runs quite happily in the background as a simple DOS task In addition to providing the usual Terminal Mode where you can send and receive data via the TNC, the program provides many features and facilities to enhance the operation of your Packet Radio system. PACKHACK  is a program used to analyze packet radio activity taking place on a specific radio channel.  It identifies and counts packets from each station, and categorizes the packets into frame types.  Generally, only "I" frames contain user information.  The "RR" frames are Acks, the "UA" frames are Acks for disconnect requests, the "D" frames are disconnect requests, and the REJ frames are Reject, send again requests See a TNC-II manual for a complete discussion on frame types With PACKHACK you can see a list of stations on the air, and the number and type of each packet sent by each station You can see which node is most active and if most of it's activity is retries or real information.  It is interesting to compare the ratio of I to RR frames for different stations and hopefully it will be useful too This version of PackHack works with data from either TNC-II clones or AEA PK232 TNC's

PTP is a terminal program written for the application layer of a packet radio station.  This program was developed specifically for use with the IBM PCjr and the TAPR TNC, but it works with other versions of the IBM PC and other TNCs as well.  PTP requires IBM DOS 2.1 or later, and will work with the monochrome adapter or the CGA adapter.  256K of RAM minimum is required to run this program.  Very little testing has been done on any other combinations

This  program RXCLUS  is used  to receive  informations transmitted on  the PacketCluster system without having to establish a connection  to a  cluster node.  It identifies  the frames sent to cluster users,  and also  those exchanged  between two cluster nodes with a  special protocol. This possibility is especially interesting during  the night  time  as  it  allows  you  to  receive  cluster informations with  no connection even if no user is connected on the local cluster node DX, WWV  and ANN  informations are  recognised among  all the frames heard  on the monitored frequency and are the only ones to be displayed. Of  course, each information is displayed only once, even if it  is repeated many times on the frequency because several users are connected.  So you  get the  same result  as  if  you  would  be connected to  the cluster, but without additional traffic on the air and with  no link  failures problems.  It is  not a  problem if  the monitored frequency  is shared  with other packet services (Mailbox and so on

Allows users connected to a G8BPQ node to directly access callbook type data from the SAM database This program uses the virtual TNC2 emulation feature of the G8BPQ code.  I plan to change this to the BPQHOST interface soon.  I will include below pieces of my configuration file and the startup batch file that I use to set this up.  This program must be run in its' own dos session (I use DesqView and give back clock cycles while in a wait loop using a call to DesqView
