This version of AUTOFAX communicates with Kantronix KAM (and KPC-4 TNCs on the COM1 RS-232 serial port at 9600 baud.  If you have another terminal emulator, you may wish to set the tnc's ABAUD to 9600 and PERM it If you do not have another terminal emulator, AUTOFAX will act as a simple terminal emulator to allow you to control the TNC.  If the TNC is not currently set for 9600 baud then see your manual on how to use the auto-baud rate detection feature of the TNC

AutoWeather 2000 is a PC compatible packet program that accepts weather data from the Ultimeter 2000 or Ultimeter 500 home weather stations and makes the data available on packet by directly connected requests and/or via automatic beacons (in APRS beacon format).  To take full advantage of AutoWx you should read ALL the documentation. Read the version updates at the end of this documentation carefully - sometimes that is the only hint of new features until the documentation is updated AutoWeather was written to run in DOS.  The idea was for AutoWeather to use a minimal personal computer, including only 640K RAM and an XT-type processor.  This should allow more people to leave their AutoWeather node on full-time without tying up their "good" computer.  I use an A/B serial switch to switch my tnc to my other computer if I want to do packet keyboarding using a communication program with more features like paKet 6.1 by Tony Lonsdale (VK2DHU).  AutoWeather will continue to monitor and log weather data while the tnc is switched out as long as the Ultimeter weather station is attached

Unlike  others software for facsimile reception, EASY  FAX  does not  require  any type of interface to connect the audio  of  the receiver  to  the  computer;  in each  case  ,  to  increase  the sensitivity  of the system, the insertion of a signal-squarer  is to  prefer.  To receive amplitude modulated  sub-carrier  signals such as  weather-satellite  signals)  a voltage-to-frequency converter is required; it must be preceded by a band pass  filter tuned on the sub-carrier frequency (usually 2400Hz or 1200Hz),the output  of this one have to be rectified before the  introduction into  the same converter

Robot Helper is a Mirosoft Windows 3.1 application designed to assist in the use of a Robot 1200c color scan converter. Robot Helper (RH) permits slow scan tv images to be stored on your hard disk and provides an easy to use disk storage manager, complete with thumbnail previews of all images Images can be displayed in two on-screen full color preview windows before uploading them to the 1200c scan converter. A separate panel allows you to control the operation and mode of the 1200c  directly from within RH Robot Helper comunicates with the 1200c through a standard 8255 based interface. The interface port addresses are fully configurable from within the software Robot Helper will also run in the background under Windows, permitting the simultaneous use of other Windows programs to provide paintbox and image processing functions. Images may be also stored on remote servers and accessed over a local area network (LAN). Clip-art images can also be loaded directly off CD ROMs

This system includes a receiving and transmitting program  for Amateur  Radio  Color Slow-Scan TV and FAX480 and  a  receive  only program for high resolution weatherfax. The so-called SSTV as being used  today is really nothing more than color facsimile, so all  of these systems are alike in that only one image is transmitted at  a time and they all use 1500 hz to 2300 hz as limits for the  modula tion  audio. The system is basically software-based, with the  only hardware  required  being  a very simple  audio  clipper  interface between  the receiver and the computer's serial COM port. The  com puter  facsimile  input and output to the  amateur  transceiver  is transformer isolated to avoid grounding and noise problems. Details of the interface are contained in Sept. 1991 "QST" and in Jan. 1994 QST".  There was an error in the schematic in the Jan. 1994  arti cle, however. The Transmit audio comes out of the Serial  interface on  the  RTS pin, NOT the CTS pin. That is, the  Transmit  coupling capacitor  connects to pin 7 on a 9-pin connector, NOT pin  8.  RTS comes  out  on pin 4 on a 25-pin connector. An early draft  of  the 1994 article is contained on this disk under filename,  ARTICLE.TXT and should be read for other needed information

VPTSR is a Terminate and Stay Resident program that allows you to use JVFAX software with your ViewPort VGA interface. I have had this version on the air for a few nights and I must say that I have received some of the best pictures that I have ever seen on SSTV. I hope you will enjoy dusting off your ViewPort Interface and putting it back on the air using the JVFAX software
