This program implements Axel superb algorithm of 7plus 2.02 and uses the fascilities I thought was useful such as splitting everything in pieces since this version even COR files are splitted. Axels source code is used as a basis for implementing changes but it is not transported in its entirety instead 7pserv implements things by its own way but without Axel this would not be possible !! This is said so that you should not belive that you are running a 7plus.exe discaised as a server. Also 7pserv does not leave any unescessary error codes to the BBS since this is not a very smart thing to do. Instead it deliveres error reports conserning the user to the user and conserning failures to the Sysop. I have now tried to get down the amount of error reports to user to a minimum 7pserv minimizes the need for using the BBS to transfer files and manipulating 7plus programs. This is done becaus the BBS is one thing and the server another Also this program does not write to the screen since this also is a bad idea for servers since most BBS:es does not save the screen when running the server program. Also what is the use in writing to the screen when dealing with automatic programs with no keyboard <-> screen user interactions 7pserv now also checks if the files are valid before proceeding any further. This makes it impossible to store invalid 7+ files and produce unwanted error reports The program can also receive the COR files before the actuall 7+ files ! It looks to see if any Correction files are available and uses them if necessary. The correction files are stored together with the uploaded files. There are also a .SRV file stored if there have been produced any error reports. The file is updated whenever an error report is sent out And finally 7pserv minimizes the amount of data put in the subject field of the letter since most BBS:es have limits here. Instead it uses fields in the mail for information exchange, it even eliminates the need for using return adress by scanning the R:lines to look for a reply. The standard reply in the subject field is although possible to use if preferedansi.zip (23K)

The BUILD utility was created to save the FBB SysOp a lot of tedium when combining 7Plus parts on the FBB BBS. With the manual system each file had to be made using the 'M' command. Once all the parts were made, the SysOp had to exit FBB and run 7Plus to combine the parts into the original file. This is not fun when there are over twenty parts BUILD does all of this for you, with an easy to use entry system All the SysOp has to do now, is run BUILD and enter the file name of the 7Plus parts, the starting message number of the FIRST received part NOTE: This does not mean the message number of 7Plus .P01 although normally it is) and the message number of the final part The 7Plus parts may be in any sequence, BUILD will sort them out The purpose of the first and last message numbers is to specify a scan range. The closer the scan range the faster the build will become The file name is needed to verify that all the 7Plus parts belong to the same filecc920724.zip (9K)

Due to the way that FBB handles external programs, those cannot be stacked one above the other. This is why I designed this multiple purpose connect filter. Each module may be used independantly from the others To this date, there are three modules to C_FILTER.COM. You decide which module you want to make active MODULE I is used to force new users to answer a questionnaire that you design yourself. The answers are sent to you as personnal messages If a new user refuses to answer the questionnaire, he is not given access to the BBS Of course, if you choose to use this module, then MODULES II and III will not be used for new users MODULE II allows you to set up a complex personnalized system of welcome messages on your BBS. The system can go as far as allowing each user to design his own welcome message using the general FBB variable definitions see FBB doc manual). You may have a special message for new users another general message for other stations that do not have a personnal message. You may also set up a list of exempt station: the callsings on this list will receive none of the available welcome messages (this is usefull for BBS*'s Le MODULE III is used to set up a password system. You may choose to require use of a password for all users, or for certain users. You may have a general" password for all users, or a different password for each one. And here again, you may prepare a list of "exempted" callsings if you like. Even BBS*'s can be given passwords! Truecleanwp8.zip (37K)

This small program is designed to manipulate the YAPPLBL.SYS file which is normally found in the SYSTEM directory of the F6FBB BBS system. This file contains the real DOS path and description for disk files which have been titled using the FBB LABEL command. It is these titles which are shown to users when they use the LIST command whilst in FBB DOS. These labels are also used by my REQDIR program to send amateurs requesting a directory listing a description of each file. This facility is SysOp configurable The file is not written in straight ASCII format and is therefore not easily readable A utility program, TLABEL, is provided with the BBS. This program is used to remove entries relating to files which no longer exist from the YAPPLBL.SYS. Sometimes, it is possible for "rogue entries to remain in YAPPLBL.SYS which serve to slow down operation of the LIST command and also the REQDIR server. In addition, if the SysOp has to move several disk files to a new directory, it can be quite a chore to relabel each one of these files from within the BBS EDITLBL will allow this to be done more simplyengland.zip (50K)

REQFIL & REQDIR are file servers that allow users to upload and download files are well as receive directories and directory listings (as set up by the Sysop). These servers are intended to mimic the FILEX server (that is a part of the W0RLI BBS) and make it easier for users to access files by not having to deal with manuvering through FBBDOS or worrying about pathes. Another advantage to these servers is the Sysop defines and labels the file areas. This prevents users from wandering through your hard disk and allows directories to be labeled (max 80 characters). The servers also use the R: routing lines to find the home BBS of the originator of the message to the server. Other features of these servers are A message to the SysOp when an upload is received stating who uploaded the file, where it is located and when the upload occured Credit is given at the beginning of a file to the person who uploaded it Users will receive various messages for: successful uploads duplicate file names (for uploads), inexistant directories, etc The configuration file is simular to the portion of the file that configures the file sections on the W0RLI BBS (last time I looked The text used in responses from the server can be easily changed allowing for customization/other languages Variables are available to include variable info into the reply messages When requesting a directory listing, it is possible to set a filter using wildcards such as *.TXT The servers do not use as much memory as they used to There can be practically an unlimited number of files in a directory Previously there was a limit of about 1000 or less Long replies can be split into a Sysop settable number of lines Using the R95 Split format GET and REQFIL no longer need a subdirectory letter when downloading, just enter the name of the file you want Drives/directries not set up in the .CFG file are accessable for download Sysop settable with multiple security levelsfp102.zip (6K)

If he/she knows part of the filename in question he/she just needs to start FP in BBS mode The initalization file FP.INI has to be in the same directory than INIT.SRV It consists of 2 lines, the first one indicating the directory to look for for instance, C:\FBB\USERS\, the second one is the maximum number of files FP should look up with the indicated search string. Uploaded Sat May 18 2024 17:29:12
This program interfaces the FBB BBS system, with the QRZ CD ROM by Walnut Creek for real-time lookups by call only. GETQRZ.EXE is the interface program, and needs to be installed in the PG subdirectory, normally \FBB\PG\. GETQRZ.CFG can be placed in the same directory as GETQRZ.EXE or in a directory in the DOS path such as \FBB\BIN\. Once FBB is started, the PG programs will be noticed, and the program name becomes a valid command. So all a user need do to enter the server is type GETQRZ call where call is the callsign of the call the user wants looked up. The Sysop may change the name of the program, thus changing the name of the command. The rule to follow here is the program and configuration files MUST have the same names, with extensions of EXE and CFG The GETQRZ.CFG file needs to be edited with site specific data. The scripts are in a file named in the CFG file. Sysops may create new files which will switch with the FBB OL command. For example, a user may create an ANSI script file, and list it in the CFG file in the same order as in the LANGUE.SYS. If a user chooses #2 ANSI for the FBB display, he will get the #2 ANSI display for the server also. The user may also add foreign language scripts, if he has the talent. A limited set of FBB $variables is supported. There is a list at the end of the GETQRZ.ENG file for reference Most of the configuration file is self-explanatoryh_hiker.zip (6K)

MAKENDX is a small utility for automatically building ASCII index files based on the DOCS server index files. These ASCII index files can then be downloaded by users or REQFIL requests. This process relies on the the DOCS directory structure being overlaid on top of the normal USER directory structure. This means that all files accessible using the W and D commands, REQDIR and REQFIL servers and the FBBDOS server will also be available within the DOCS server. I find it easier to just maintain one set of directories containing files, so overlaying the two structures doesn't worry me. The big advantage is that if the DOCS server index is maintained, then the ASCII index can be automatically updated by MAKENDX MAKENDX reads the @@.LBL files created by the DOCS server and writes an ASCII index file (named '!INDEX') into the directory for all files that can be found in the directory. A new @@.LBL file is created that contains only those files which exist in the directory. The !INDEX and new @@.LBL files are sorted based on the file name. The new @@.LBL file is given a DOS hidden' attribute so that it is not visible to users using the normal directory commands. The DOCS server will still find the file, but be aware that the file will not normally be visible, even to the sysop using the normal DOS commands. If you try to delete a USERS/DOCS directory and find that you can't, it may be a hidden @@.LBL file MAKENDX.EXE must be run from the main FBB directory (the one which contains the INIT.SRV file). The program needs no parameters, as it uses the INIT.SRV file to determine where the default DOCS server directory is. This directory and all directories below it directory are scanned for @@.LBL files MAKENDX assumes that the DOCS and USERS directories are overlaid (otherwise there is no point in producing the !INDEX files as there would be no way to access them It is quite safe to run MAKENDX from the APPEL.BAT file (I run it just after EPURMESS) to build new indexes each night. If you keep the DOCS indexes up to date each day, then this is an easy way to keep the ASCII indexes up to datemaster.zip (9K)

The original changes constantly, so insert the copy statement and program statement in your APPEL.BAT, so it updates daily when housekeeping takes place. Renaming the WP.OLD instead of copying the WP.SYS saves a few meg of drive space. The file used for WP lookups is NK3T_WP.DAT, and the QTH_WP.EXE program creates a file called NK3T_WP.NDX which is the index file. These are unique file names, and must not be changed or the program will not recognize the information. See the included APPEL.BAT for an example way of running the index program during cleanup. To seed the system the first time use F8 software reboot, and choose housekeeping. The index file is 11 bytes per record, so it will not take up too large a space. If the index is not created, the program will run without it. If you are also running SAMQTH.EXE, it is the same WP index file and may be sharedrecover.zip (3K)

This program was written when my system hung up and required a reload from a previous backup. There were a series of priviate files with a status of PN that I did not want to loose. In order to use the program, if you have such a problem, you must keep the DIRMES.SYS file and all the MAIL directories. I backed all that up before I reloaded the system from a previous backup... This program will read the DIRMES.SYS file that has been saved and will create a header for each PN message file. It will then read that message file and add it to the output file thus creating an import file in the FBB import format. When completed, you import that file and have Recovered the message files... This program can be run with QBASIC that is shipped on all DOS systems. You will need to set the file names and directories correctly. Obviously, if you DIRMES.SYS is destroyed, this will NOT workredist27.zip (30K)

As a sysop I've often been asked "I know how to send a bulletin to everyone at a BBS, but how do I send a bulletin to everyone in xxxxxx". xxxxxx might be a large city in Europe, a state in America or the whole of Australia. Sometimes it's to trace relatives in the area, other times to find out details for a forthcoming holiday in that part of the world. Whatever the reason people often want to address bulletins to different regions This question must obviously be on the minds of many users. How often do you see messages to 'ALL @ EU' or even worse, 'ALL @ WW' where someone is trying to attract the attention of users in just a small area of Europe or the world Whenever I am asked I normally recommend that my users send a message to a BBS sysop in the relevant area asking if they will re-distribute the message as a bulletin using a local bulletin grouping. This has been tried and sometimes it works. I guess that most sysops will help if possible, but it does add yet another job to the already busy sysop's life Some people say that it's possible to send bulletins to countries using the relevant hierarchical address, but apart from leaving a 'snail trail' of unwanted bulletins behind at each BBS that forwards the bulletin it also worries me because I don't know for certain that all countries forward based on the hierarchical address for the country. In the UK we DO forward based on our country address (GBR), but I've seen people using '@ USA.NA and I think I've heard that in America the correct address is 'ALLUS' or USABBS The REDIST server for the F6FBB BBS software now solves that problem. It allows users to address a personal message to a server at a remote BBS which will translate it into a bulletin to be forwarded using one of a number of local areas defined by the remote BBS sysop. The sender can choose the approximate size of area for the bulletin by sending the message to the correct server I have recently heard that a REDIST compatible server is to be released for use with the W0RLI BBS software. Unfortunately I am not able to build a list of W0RLI-type BBSs that support the server, so I can't guarantee where you can use itrejct014.zip (14K)

REJECT.EXE is a program written to filter bulletins with the FBB REJECT.SYS before importing. Put REJECT.SYS,REJECT.EXE,WFBID.SYS in the same directory with the files you wish to check. If the program does not find REJECT.SYS or WFBID.SYS in the same directory, it searches in \FBB\SYSTEM on the same drive. If there is sufficient memory, and WFBID.SYS is available, it will load WFBID.SYS into memory, to reject messages on BID, as well as the parameters specified in REJECT.SYS. The memory is also used for temporary buffers, so the total memory usage is governed by number of BIDs and largest message size. If the memory is not sufficient for the program, the BIDs will be removed from memory, and not checked for BIDsrenum002.zip (21K)

This program renumbers the message files for the FBB BBS system Please back up your files before use. The program modifies DIRMES.SYS, INF.SYS, WFBID.SYS and all the mail files The program should be run from the drive on which FBB resides. The program assumes the standard FBB directory structure, system files in FBB\SYSTEM and the mail files in \FBB\MAIL\MAIL0 - MAIL9. The program takes one arguement, a number to start the new number sequence. The program should not be run from the FBB DOS gateway. Running from the gateway will cause problems To simplify running the program, 2 batch files are included. To run from the BAT file, place RENUMBER.EXE in the FBB directory, or in the FBB\BIN directory, which should be in the PATH statement. Edit the arguement in the NK3T_REN.BAT file for the desired starting number PKZIP needs to be available to the batch file, by having it in a subdirectory in the PATH statement. If the process is successful, you may want to remove the ZIP files created by the batch file. NK3T_REN.BAT will backup and renumber the system. NK3T_RES.BAT will restore the system from the backup zip filesreport11.zip (18K)

This server is designed to take a specially formatted REQUEST Message and readdress it with appropriate headers for forwarding via the Satellite system. It was conceived to help those who wished their mail to be directed via the Satellite Forwarding system, but who's local BBS was using Terrestrial Routes to send the mail. An example would be if a station was several VHF and/or HF BBS's away from a satellite gateway and normally mail to the region they wanted to send a message to went via a Terrestrial HF Circuit, they could send their message encapsulated in a REQSAT Request to the satellite Gateway and then the satellite gateway could forward the message via satellitereqzip.zip (10K)

As of version 5.15 of the FBB BBS the EPURMESS program returns messages which cannot be forwarded due to a bad or unknown route Or sysop laziness :-) Local messages however are simply killed after expiring, without notifying the sender of the message. I wrote RETMAIL to fix this problem RETMAIL returns two types of messages o Messages for known users which are about to expire o Messages for unknown users which are about to expire The expiry of unread pmail is handled by RETMAIL itself, not by EPURMESS RETMAIL scans the message database (DIRMES.SYS) for messages with type 'P status 'N' and no @BBS field. (i.e. local unread p-mail) It then checks if the callsign for whom the message is has an entry in the users database INF.SYS). If the message is expired it will be returned to the originator and the message-status will be changed to 'K'. (i.e. killed The locations of the various files are taken from INIT.SRV. RETMAIL should be started from the directory where the INIT.SRV file resides The two expiry limits are given as command-line arguments to RETMAIL. The first argument is the number of days after which a message for an unknown user will expire. The second argument is the number of days for message to a known user. For example RETMAIL 7 100 This will return messages for unknown users after 7 days, and unread messages for known users after 100 days If RETMAIL is given a third argument it will operate in debug mode It doesn't matter what the third argument is. In debug mode no messages are killed, and the output is written to the file RETMAIL.DBG instead of the MAIL.IN file. I recommend testing RETMAIL in debug mode before using it in Real Life Situations (tm RETMAIL should be started from within your APPEL.BAT (or whatever name it has on your system). Don't use RETMAIL while the BBS is running It's safe to run it in debug mode thoughscnfd004.zip (15K)

This program is intended to display in a graphical format, the forward files of the FBB BBS system. Place the SCANFWD.EXE in the FBB\SYSTEM\ subdirectory, which is where the BBS.SYS and FORWARD.SYS are normally located. The display shows all valid BBS files that exist in the forward file. The BBS names are parsed from the A lines in the forward files. Program output may be redirected to a DOS file, or the printer with the DOS redirection switch Switch commands may be abbreviated, L for Long, etc. The output shows an asterisk (*) if there is a match, and an exclamation mark if there is an exceptionsortu105.zip (12K)

TRASFILT is short for "TRASHFILTER", a kind of "garbage-filter There is a lot of mails in our net that has very interesting Subjects, but when you read it, it is just "garbage" or completely emty, or have a lot of "tttttttttttttttttt"'s in it. This filter puts HOLD of such mails, and the sysop have to "RE" theese mails read them and kill if there is nothing of value The filter also puts Swapped BID's on HOLD. Unfortunately there is a few EA-stations that have the FBB listnumber as a BID in the R:lines, so chech if it is really swapped before you possibly kill it The filter uses a "multi-filter" that is made by SM6GQW It's named M_FILTER.EXE och runs all m_filter's that are setup in \FBB\M_FILTER.CFG If you don't use any other M_Filter than TRASFILT, you can rename TRASFILT.EXE to M_FILTER.EXE and put it in \FBB\BINusers101.zip (11K)

It looks for any question marks in the update lines for US and Canadian calls, if it finds any it then it accesses HamBase and fills in the question mark fields with the needed data from HamBase if any). One always wants the most complete White Pages database possible and it seems that someone else always has more info in their WP database. They may offer to send a copy of it to you for you to replace your smaller WP database with, but then you would loose any info that the larger database may not have. My solution to this problem is the WPCVT program. What this program will do is take the larger WP database that someone sent you, process it and turn it into (a) WP update message(s) to be imported into your BBS where the BBS will ADD the new info into its existing WP database
