Subject: areafix question - requesting upstream echoes?
@MSGID: <680E8CCC.69864.dove.sync@realitycheckbbs.org>

I've got downlinks in region 10 and elsewhere. I want them to be able to request message echoes from me, and if I don't carry them, to pass the request on to my uplink and have that feature turned on.
For a downlink to be able to enter an areafix request for an echo I don't carry, and for sbbsecho to pass it along to uplink, does that echo need to be in *my* backbone.na file? I'm thinking of a scenario where there's a new echo that my uplink has defined, but I don't have it in my backbone.na yet. Would that request go through or fail?

The echo still needs to be listed in *an* echolist, but the request can
be forwarded to your uplink, if so configured in echocfg->EchoLists. --
