Installation Procedure for Windows 95 Callers

This setup procedure is for Windows 95 and above only - the software available
on this screen will not work with Windows 3.1 - If you are a Windows 3.1 user
please refer to the Windows 3.1 setup section.

There are now three ways to connect to Grafix On-Line - using our software you
are using now, using direct PPP, or using our text based menus with any
communications software. For the best performance while browsing the web, you
should connect to Grafix using a direct PPP connection - after you have
established a PPP connection you can even log on to Grafix over the PPP
connection and use Netscape or Internet Explorer or any other web browser and
Internet software. Please follow the directions below to setup PPP
connections for your computer.

1. Start Windows Explorer - On the left side of the window, under the drive
letters, you should have folders listed for Control Panel, Printers, and
Dialup Networking. If Dialup Networking is present skip to step 3. If Dialup
Networking is not present proceed to step 2. -

2. If Dial-Up Networking is not present it must be installed from the original
Windows software. From Windows Explorer, click on Control Panel, then select,
Add Remove Programs and select the Windows Setup tab. Highlight the
Communications setting and click on Details - select all 4 communications
items - then click OK. You will be prompted to insert your Windows 95 disk or
CDROM - Insert the disk and press OK. After installation is complete you'll
need to restart your computer. After your computer has restarted start
Windows Explorer (or from the Start Button) select Control Panel - In control
panel highlight the Dial-Up Networking Adapter item and click on the
Properties button - on the bindings tab, make sure the TCP/IP Dial-Up
Networking is checked - select OK and proceed to step three.

3. From Windows Explorer - Double Click on the Dialup Networking folder - on
the right side of the Window Explorer window you should now see one or more
icons - Double Click on the icon Make New Connection.

4. Your will then be prompted to enter a name for the new connection you are
creating - enter Grafix PPP. The default modem connection should be fine - if
you have more than one modem, select the modem you wish to use - Click on
Next.

5. You will then be prompted to enter the telephone number to connect to -
enter xxx-xxxx - if you are using a 14.4 modem - if you are using a 28.8 modem
enter xxx-xxxx - if you are long distance to either number call Grafix at
xxx-xxxx for a local access number - leave the country code selection alone
and do not enter an area code - Click On Next.

6. You will then see a screen that informs you that the connection has been
created - Click Finish.

7. Now that the connection has been created you now need to configure the
connection to the settings of the Grafix Server. From Windows Explorer select
the Dialup Networking icon, on the right you'll see the new Grafix PPP
connection that was just created - click on that icon with your RIGHT mouse
button and select properties.

8. You'll then be presented with the properties screen for the Grafix PPP
connection - Select Server Type and ensure that the settings are as follows:

Type of Dialup Server: PPP: Windows 95, Windows NT, Internet
  Log On To Network: Unchecked
  Enable Software Compression: Unchecked
  Require Encrypted Password: Unchecked
  NetBEUI: Unchecked
  IPX/SPX Compatible: Unchecked
  TCP/IP: Checked

Select OK to save the settings.

9. The PPP connection should now be ready to use. From Windows Explorer (or
the Start button), select Dial-Up Networking and double click on the Grafix
PPP connection. Enter your user name and password in the boxes using all
CAPITAL LETTERS, and press connect. Once the connection has been established,
you can then start Netscape and browse the web. Please email support from
the Main Menu if you are having problems.
